Our construction client based in South Gloucestershire are looking for an all-round Accounts Assistant to join their team based at Thornbury.

This role is being created as the Business grows to be a key support function to their Finance Department.

The position will need to commence on Monday 1St March – Initially to Support the Business with Historic Finance Sorting & Reconciliation – for 2 weeks (Temp), then the role will become a permanent part time position working 2 – 3 days per week (flexible hours)

Our client requires the candidate to have the following skills and attributes:-

Experience of Sales Ledger & Purchase Ledger ideally within the Construction Industry (CIS)

Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts & Sage Payroll

Good IT skills

Able to work accurately on an independent basis but as part of a team

An outgoing and confident character with good communication skills and a good sense of humour

A flexible and adaptable approach to different accounting challenges

The duties and responsibilities of this role largely consist of the following:

Sorting Historic Paperwork

Sales Ledger Invoices/Credits (Self Billing) – Extras & Customer Care

Credit Control activities

Purchase Ledger – Coding/ Posting Suppliers Invoices

Bank Reconciliation

Weekly Timesheet Collation & Payroll Process

Month End Support

Administration tasks, including filling, scanning and uploading documents.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Basic bookkeeping & accounts experience

Strong verbal and written communication skills & ability to work across functional departments

Strong attention to detail, analytical approach to problem solving

Proactive and methodical attitude with ability to work unsupervised

Working to high levels of accuracy

You will need to possess good numeracy skills and include a C or above in GCSE Math’s, good use of the Sage Accounting & Payroll system and perhaps further accounting qualifications e.g. AAT

CIS Knowledge
