As an Air Technician, your responsibilities will include conducting fire damper tests, maintaining air handling units, cleaning ventilation and extract systems. This role will require on-site work at various locations across England. You will also occasionally be involved in water hygiene tasks, such as water monitoring, tank cleaning, TMV servicing, disinfections, showerhead descales, and water sampling.
Given the nature of our work, you must be willing to travel, including occasional overnight stays. Currently, we are seeking technicians in the Reading-Bristol area. Security vetting is a requirement, ranging from baseline enhanced DBS checks to high-level security clearance (CTC), as we primarily operate in high security sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to health and safety regulations, method statements, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
Conduct fire damper testing and inspections
Install access doors
Perform maintenance on air handling units
Carry out grease hygiene cleaning and readings
Clean ductwork and ventilation systems
Apply corrosion treatment to AHUs
Maintain accurate documentation, including timesheets, expenses, survey forms, and job sheets
Occasional involvement in water hygiene tasks
Essential Experience/Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of health and safety practices with practical on-site experience
Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues
Ideally, some prior experience in field-based work
Previous exposure to water hygiene work is advantageous
Comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces, as required
Willingness to work occasional unsocial hours and travel/stay away from home
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to pass an enhanced CRB or DBS check
Valid driver's license
