Our client is a global facilities management and building services organisation, who has an ever expanding, very successful electrical division. They have successfully been in business since 1985 and grown from strength to strength across the globe.

Due to continued success within a major blue-chip contract, they are now recruiting for a Food Services Manager across the UK and midlands.

As a Food Services Manager your role would be to report to the Head of Technical Services directly regarding the state of staff and equipment within your area. This will require roughly 50/50 split between home and travel in order to suitably carry out the requirements of the position. The main focus will be on having a key understanding of the electrical side of the equipment that is used within the business such as ovens, chillers, refrigeration and others. An electrical background is not required but would greatly help in order to understand what parts need maintenance and replacement. 

A large part of the role will be in keeping up with the latest equipment and then training and working with other teams to ensure they fully understand. The current expectation is that this role would have an assistant to assist them.

This role is ideal for someone who has a electrical technical background with FM machinery, and has previous experience in a senior role managing teams.

Essential:

  • Educated to GCSE / Standard Grade level as a minimum, ideally NVQ Level 3
  • A working knowledge of the maintenance service within the FM industry is essential, with previous working knowledge of a multi-client contracted environment is desirable, and PPM and compliance background.
  • Technical knowledge and working understanding of electrical equipment used within a catering and FM industry such as ovens, chillers etc.
  • A working knowledge of senior management and technical advice for catering, hospitality or food production equipment is desirable.
  • Previous experience of effectively leading and managing a team is essential.
  • Experience managing budgets and a history of maintaining stock for equipment maintenance and repair.

Desirable: 

  • Previous experience of developing client relationships at a senior level would be advantageous
  • Strong PC literacy, with experience in extracting, collating, and presenting performance data along with a good understanding of the CAFM systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong results focus, takes accountability for own performance and that of the team
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making
  • Highly flexible and self-starting. The role will have many challenges and a flexible approach will be needed. 

In return, our client is offering a total package of £60k-£65k salary DOE per annum + company car / £5.7K car allowance + uniform + health care + pension scheme + retail discount + cycle to work scheme
