Graphic Designer – Derby, On-site (Possible Hybrid, 2 Days from Home)

You'll be joining a dynamic creative and print team at the Derby branch, where you'll be responsible for artworking and typesetting for print production. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with business strategy. While on-site presence is preferred due to our in-house production facilities, we are open to flexibility for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Typesetting and creative art working based on client briefs
  • Pre-press file checking and correction for accurate production replication
  • Building and maintaining Web-to-Print templates
  • Collaborating with the print management team on project details, deadlines, and optimal solutions for various domains like digital, operational, marketing, signage, and POS
  • Engaging with the marketing team to provide support on creative innovation projects
  • Liaising with IT for technical/software support and staying updated on developments
  • Data processing and manipulation, including reports and data jobs
  • Creating and modifying traces and Duplo programs in line with in-house production
  • Javascript programming for Web-to-Print functionality
  • HTML+CSS for site skinning, resolving design issues, and handling complaints effectively and efficiently
  • Collaborating with other studio members to support workload and shared knowledge/processes

Key Skills and Behaviours:

Essentials

  • Graphic Design qualification
  • Proficient in InDesign, Illustrator, and other Adobe packages
  • Proactive approach to department success, with a customer-focused and professional demeanor
  • Excellent communication and rapport-building skills, capable of handling inter-department communication under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in small format digital print manufacturing

Advantageous

  • Experience in presenting and delivering collaborative creative briefs directly to clients
  • Knowledge of Web2Print, especially Pageflex (storefront) software
  • Web-site design/programming skills

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 (Dependent on Experience)
