Our client, a local gas and heating systems installer with over 30 years of experience, is looking for a Health, Safety & Compliance Specialist to join their thriving engineering division in Bristol, Bath, and surrounding areas.

Job Description:

We're looking for a qualified Health, Safety & Compliance Specialist with a construction industry background to spearhead health, safety, and training initiatives. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you'll play a crucial role in championing best practices.


  • Collaborate on Risk Assessments and Method Statements with our consultant and operations managers.

  • Formulate and approve policies, procedures, and construction phase plans.

  • Enhance the use of our online safety system in collaboration with the consultant.

  • Lead management discussions and toolbox talks.

  • Investigate incidents, ensuring preventive measures are taken.

  • Maintain monthly incident statistics reports for the board.

  • Halt hazardous practices and coordinate health and safety guidance and training.

  • Oversee on-boarding, equipment issuance, and company-wide H&S auditing.

  • Address environmental concerns through IEMA Environmental management.

  • Manage all health and safety procurement activity.

Essential Qualities & Skills:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate Level qualification.

  • IOSH Managing Safely / Site Management Safety Training Scheme certified.

  • 5+ years of construction industry experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth.

  • Familiarity with the Safety Culture App is a plus.
