Machine Shop Manager

My client is a world leading engineering company, working on some of the largest and most high profile projects in the UK today.

The workshop produces parts and components to a very high standard, in line with ISO9000.

Due to someone retiring, we are now seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to take on a busy and profitable production machine workshop.

This role will suit someone either already working in a similar role and looking for a change or someone looking for the next step in their career.

Role Requirement:

• Day to day management of the production environment
• Meet agreed order fulfilment & profit margin requirements
• Maintain a safe and tidy workshop environment
• Day to day management of the team, ensuring a cohesive and happy workforce
• Ensure that all equipment is safe, maintained and capable
• Meet required quality standards

Essential Skills:

• Understanding of the production engineering process
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
• Experience in the manufacture of parts and components
• Machine shop experience
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to lead from the front

This role might suit a workshop supervisor, ready to take on a manager role as you will be working alongside the current manager for 2 days each week and will receive on the job training and support to learn the commercial side of the business.
