Exciting Opportunity: Mechanical Design Engineer
Are you a dynamic Mechanical Design Engineer ready to dive into ground breaking projects? An amazing opportunity awaits with our client, who is on the lookout for a passionate individual to join their innovative team and take the lead in designing cutting-edge industrial sheet/steel fabrications.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of:
- Crafting General Arrangement drawings, Assembly Drawings, Fabrication Drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and As-Built drawings, meeting not just customer expectations but exceeding them.
- Producing concept and detailed design deliverables that not only adhere to company standards and procedures but set new benchmarks for excellence.
- Mastering Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling of bespoke products, bringing creativity to life and delivering exceptional output according to company procedures.
- Conducting calculations and FEA analysis (mechanical, structural, thermal, fatigue, acoustic, shock, and blast) to not just meet but surpass project requirements.
- Providing unmatched technical support on projects and actively contributing to ground breaking research and development activities.
- Ensuring that product performance considerations such as fire, thermal, acoustics, security, and blast are not just met but elevated to new heights.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum HND in Engineering with 5 years' experience OR a Bachelor’s degree (BEng Hons) in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years' experience in industrial sheet/steel fabrications.
- Proficiency in Autodesk 3D Inventor, 2D AutoCAD, and Autodesk Vault.
- Ability to use Ansys FEA software (desirable) and program templates using iLogic/Visual Basic (desirable).
- Understanding of steel plate manufacturing principles, including laser cutting, weld limitations, and press machinery.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to energize and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- A flexible mindset ready to embrace challenges and go the extra mile to meet project deadlines.
Salary and Benefits
In return of these skills and experience, our client are offerings a salary £38k – £42k based on experience.
Working hours – Monday to Thursday 7am – 5pm, any hours worked on Friday will be paid at time and a half.
