Our client is currently looking for Project Management Group Leader that can provide excellent project management leadership across the business.

You will support various sectors across the company’s client base, which currently comprises of, Energy, Security, Government, Defence and Nuclear sectors and will be based in their Surrey offices.

The ideal candidate will sit in their Head Office near Redhill, but for a more experienced candidate they we would consider one of their other UK offices (Bristol, Derby, Cheshire, or Basingstoke).

Their Programme & Management team provide services in a variety of disciplines, all aimed at supporting their clients in making better informed strategic business decisions. Furthermore, they are on hand to ensure the implementation of such decisions is successfully completed and provide our clients with the best business results.

They base this service on their Engineering background, to ensure they provide clients with a logical approach to solving these business challenges.

As the Group Leaders you will perform a key management role in the business.  You will provide pastoral, technical and project leadership to a group of technically orientated staff, as well as delivering consultancy work of their own. You will be pivotal in managing the resourcing and other challenges that arise in a busy consultancy, skilfully balancing the needs of clients, the business and individuals.

Your responsibilities will include:

Ensuring all members of the group deliver excellent technical work to our clients;

Ensuring the people within the group progress and develop;

Developing new business to keep themselves, their group and the wider company busy;

The preferred candidate for this role would have experience in the technical disciplines covered by Programme & management Consultancy (eg. Project and Programme Management; Business Case preparation; Business Transformation; Economic Analysis). However, it should be noted that this is a leadership role, and the ability to lead people and develop plans and strategies are more important.


The successful applicant will meet the following minimum requirements:

Have strong and proven leadership skills

Have the ability to identify and support business development opportunities resulting in the preparation of estimates, proposals, budgets and documentation.

Have a strong ability to manage projects and understand the Technical disciplines in their remit

Have a good clear vision and ability to bring a strategy to life and make it a reality.

Be degree qualified or equivalent

Have a keen attention to ensuring the day-to-day activities are delivered successfully, whilst maintaining a view on the strategic priorities.

Prince 2 qualified

Ideally chartered

Ideally APM course completed

It is to your advantage if you meet any or all the following additional requirements:

Experience in delivering Programmes and Project

Consultancy experience

Have a relevant qualification (eg APM or equivalent)
