My client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their rapidly growing consultancy group within the Defence Industry, in Bristol.

Our client specialises in providing analysis and decision support for large complex MOD projects.

We are looking for expert assistance with a new role in the defence sector, which will help our client understand current Programme and Portfolio Management Office (PfMO) objectives in their defebce projects.  The role will be to analyse consequent maturity, in order to best support senior stakeholder decision making and to recommend actions to address any areas for improvement

You will manage Programme & PfMO documentation stock take reports, outlining maturity of all 3 Programmes and overall portfolio health against the established objectives and benefits, in accordance with MOD accepted P3M practices.

You will run Bi-weekly Flash Reports to communicate into the PfMO, which will include the following, but not limited to:-

Create progress narrative

Plans for the next 2 weeks

Meetings scheduled for 2 weeks in advance

Success results from previous weeks

Pat, present and future challenges

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years defence project management experience and be qualified to at least Level 4 Management.

Project Management accreditation (Prince 2, or APM or MicrosoftProject)

Defence Acquisition experience

Experienced with P3M

Auditing experience

Experience working with FLC (First Level Controllers) is desirable not essential.

This role will be offered as a 6 month fixed term contract, with possible extension on a salary between £60 – £70k (DOE).

This role requires someone to be based at Abbeywood in Bristol, with travel to 3 other sits when necessary, expenses covered.

We require the candidate to already be security cleared and hold a British passport, in order to gain access on the MOD site.
