Our successful multi sector technical engineering consulting client have reached new heights in the rail industry.  The modernisation of the UK’s rail system and the new train fleet releases has seen them win some fantastic long-term contracts in this sector and carve a very bright future in the world of transportation.

The increase in contract and frameworks that they have won, now requires an experienced Rolling Stock Engineer/Consultant, either already working for a consultancy specialising in rail or you will come from a ROSCO or other transportation company.

The new expertise will help our client both expand and deliver work in the rail sector, heavily biased to the infrastructure sector.

The technical role is a Rolling Stock Vehicle Project Engineer / Consultant who will to help win, lead and deliver challenging projects in the rolling stock sector.

This will involve the successful candidate providing technical advice and consultancy services to a wide variety of projects.  At the present time, our work in this area is focussed on rail vehicle life extension and design modification.

You will also help them develop the services that they offer in this area working with people across the company.

They will accept experience instead of academic qualifications. In particular we are after:

Experienced Vehicle Engineer who have worked closely with ROSCO, TOC, maintainers, vehicle over-haulers, OEM and supplier base with specific experience of:

DMU / EMU / High Speed Rolling stock

Vehicle structures (bogies, bodyshell)

Rolling stock condition assessment, life extension and modifications.

Development, review and approval of modification instructions and technical procedures and drawings.

Technical risk assessment.

Rolling stock processes especially vehicle change management & design substantiation,

Onsite experience supporting maintainers / over-haulers and working with TOC in depots,

Client liaison and programme management in the above areas, including extensive interaction with a range of stakeholders.
