Our Client a Bristol based Systems and Safety Engineering Consultancy, who develop and assess the design of complex Defence, Aerospace and Space systems are recruiting for an experienced?System Safety Engineer to work on a Permanent basis. The System Safety Engineer should have?at least 5 years of experience in the Aerospace and Defence sectors and be comfortable in a customer-facing role. As a System Safety Engineer, you will be carrying out a wide range of Safety Engineering activities across a variety of Defence projects.
They are a small consultancy with a fantastic and growing team and lots of ambition. Currently supporting their clients on some of the most exciting and technically challenging projects in the defence sector. We offer?Hybrid/Remote?with?Flexible?working patterns and believe work-life balance is key to success. Travel to client sites may be required depending on the contract.
Essential skills:
Experience in carrying out?Hazard Identification?and?Hazard Analysis.
Experience in carrying out?Fault Tree Analysis?(e.g. Isograph Reliability Workbench).
Familiarity with ARP4754A, or DO178C/DO254 and ARP4761
Experience in the production and maintenance of Safety Reports and Plans:
e.g.?Safety Case Reports?and?Safety Management Plans.
Good understanding of Systems Engineering principles.
Hazard Log Management.
Experience working on complex systems (e.g. Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear).
Experience working with DE&S and following the ASEMS process.
Ability to work effectively across multiple projects.
Desirable skills:
Requirements management.
Experience with Failure Modes, Effects (and Criticality) Analysis.
Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering.
Experience working with IEC 61508.
Understanding of safety assurance of software and/or complex hardware.
Understanding / experience working with DEF STAN 07-85.
Electronics Engineering experience.
Qualifications:
Ideally be degree qualified in an Engineering discipline.
Candidates will ideally be a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent experience.
Candidates?MUST?be?eligible?for UK Security Clearance.
