Our Client a Bristol based Systems and Safety Engineering Consultancy, who develop and assess the design of complex Defence, Aerospace and Space systems are recruiting for an experienced System Safety Engineer to work on a Permanent basis. The System Safety Engineer should have at least 5 years of experience in the Aerospace and Defence sectors and be comfortable in a customer-facing role. As a System Safety Engineer, you will be carrying out a wide range of Safety Engineering activities across a variety of Defence projects.
They are a small consultancy with a fantastic and growing team and lots of ambition. Currently supporting their clients on some of the most exciting and technically challenging projects in the defence sector. We offer?Hybrid/Remote?with?Flexible?working patterns and believe work-life balance is key to success. Travel to client sites may be required depending on the contract.
Essential skills:
Experience in carrying out Hazard IdentificationandHazard Analysis.
Experience in carrying out Fault Tree Analysis(e.g. Isograph Reliability Workbench).
Familiarity with ARP4754A, or DO178C/DO254 and ARP4761
Experience in the production and maintenance of Safety Reports and Plan – Safety Case Reports andSafety Management Plans.
Good understanding of Systems Engineering principles.
Hazard Log Management.
Experience working on complex systems (e.g. Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear).
Experience working with DE&S and following the ASEMS process.
Ability to work effectively across multiple projects.
Desirable skills:
Requirements management.
Experience with Failure Modes, Effects (and Criticality) Analysis.
Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering.
Experience working with IEC 61508.
Understanding of safety assurance of software and/or complex hardware.
Understanding / experience working with DEF STAN 07-85.
Electronics Engineering experience.
Qualifications:
