Job vacancies in the UK have increased at a rapid rate year on year for the past 20 + years.  We of course have also just experienced a rapid decline as the country went into lockdown, but as the country slowly eases the lockdown rules, there has been an increase in offers.  But the number of job offers did fall in April amid ongoing COVID uncertainty holding individuals back from seeking a new opportunity.  What a turbulent time for us Recruiters too!

The latest report on jobs https://www.rec.uk.com/our-view/reports-jobs by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and KPMG (one of the UK’s leading advice consultancy’s)  discovered that although hiring permanent staff rose last month many candidates are reluctant to change jobs over concerns around job security.

At Project Start, we celebrated the month of April 2021 as one of our successful months! Lauren Manning our newest team member, made her first placement as Trainee Recruitment Consultant. Achieving this after just 3 weeks in the business, she has shown signs of being a natural at recruitment.

Our Delivery Consultant Nikki Head received a bottle of champagne at the end of a successful month in April for hitting her best month of interviews arranged ever in her career!  Nikki worked hard in achieving this PB and has a great relationship with her candidates.

Our Digital Marketing Executive Jasmin Stevens has created some excellent content for the business, raised the company’s profile in the industry and simply makes us all look good behind the camera!
